PAMOL PLANTATIONS Plc WORKERS JOINED THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY TO CELEBRATE THE 130TH EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL LABOUR DAY 2016.

May 1st 2016 was another rendezvous to celebrate the International Labour Day under the theme “Cooperate Social Responsibility of Companies and Syndicates for Decent Work”. Pamol workers celebrated this year with their counterparts in the nation and the world in their various divisional capitals.
Pamol workers were dressed in colourful newly introduced fabric by management tagged “Pamol Plantations Plc growing food for an emerging nation”. Participation of workers this year, as many acclaimed was comparatively higher than the previous years. This year’s celebration was coupled with the award of medals to 37 workers of the Company making the atmosphere around Pamol workers one of jubilation as family members of recipients joined workers to celebrate this day.

In Ndian Division, the programme took off at 9.00 am at the Mundemba grand stand. During this event, the Senior Divisional Officer for Ndian Chamberlin Ntou’ou Ndong encouraged workers to take their jobs seriously because it is from their jobs that their survival and the education of their children are guaranteed.

The General Manager of Pamol Chief Mekanya Charles Okon encouraged workers to be hard working and disciplined, saying workers should not give room for laxity in order to secure their jobs.

The president of Pamol Employees Union Mr. Jonas Eboka expressed some needs of workers and pleaded with management of the company to improve on the housing condition of workers. He also publicly denounced one Njibili Molimo Mokanya as never belonging to the Union and thus the union has nothing to do with any petition against the General Manager..

Social Hours.

In our Mundimba camp a social gathering was organized for workers and invitees with a popular Cameroonian artist - Nguea la Route and a local singer Petit Didier performing for the population. Important dignitaries of the administration, army, judiciary and political circles graced the occasion. There were also two guests of honour - Mr Willie Kimbeng a former Deputy G.M and Mr Emmanuel Bamu - a former Personnel Manager of the company.
Two workers were awarded for hard work: Terna Julius, Pamol Hospital Supervisor and Ngum Emmanuel, Divisional Manager Makeke each received a brand new Toyota Corolla car from Pamol.
With the weather being favourable and no casualty recorded, one could conclude that Labour Day 2016 celebration was a success to the entire Pamol Company.
